Amy LaBelle's Homemade Buttermilk Biscuits Recipe:
Ingredients:
4.5 Cups All Purpose Flour + more for dusting
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 tablespoon baking soda
1 tsp sea salt or kosher salt
2 sticks cold salted butter
2.5 cups buttermilk
Directions:
Whisk the dry ingredients in a food processor
Then cut in the very cold butter.
Transfer to a bowl and make a well in the center.
Add the buttermilk and mix quickly until a loose dough forms.
Turn the dough out onto a floured counter and form into a square.
Cut biscuits carefully (don’t twist the cutter!) and place them in a skillet.
Bake at 400°F for 25–30 min.
Amy's Recipe Tips:
Keep your butter cold and handle the dough lightly. The chunks of butter create flaky layers, and minimal mixing keeps the biscuits tender and soft.
